Sailor Moon Vector Art

I used to be pretty good at vector art at college, but since it's been a while I figured I'd try to get back into it. I wanted to do an original Sailor Moon piece, but the shapes were looking odd. I decided to "trace"/vectorize my favorite Sailor Moon image to help get myself used to doing these particular shapes with the Pen tool.

It has always been my very favorite piece from the Sailor Moon artbooks. I am lucky enough to have the artbook that contains this piece, so I was able to use as additional reference when the digital image was too blurry.

It took approximately 3.5 hours for the base, and then an additional 2.5 for the detailing and shading (I'm slow, I know).

Everything was created with the Pen tool, minus the shading, small details, and her facial features, which were created using the Brush in Illustrator.
